First Baptist Church Danville seeks to nurture children as they discover and grow in Christian faith. We seek to accomplish this goal through sharing Bible stories, community service opportunities, and interactive activities.
Beginning with nursery care for the smallest infants and continuing until the children graduate to the youth program, First Baptist Children’s Ministry seeks to offer age-appropriate interactive learning and fun activities designed to help our children to grow as Jesus did, “in wisdom, in stature, and in favor with God and man.”
Sunday School, worship, and the music and faith development programs of Wonderful Wednesdays provide the foundation of that ministry.
Special events throughout the year provide additional Christian education, missions involvement, social interaction, and fun for children of all ages.
Preschool (Birth – Kindergarten)
Our goal in the preschool suite is to teach our babies through kindergarteners of God’s love and the life and ministry of Jesus through nurturing relationships, developmentally appropriate Bible stories, multi-sensory learning experiences, and a safe and secure learning environment.
We hope that children from their earliest days of memory will come to know church as a good place to be – a place where they will be affirmed and accepted, not just for what they can do, but for who they are as children of God.
Children (Grades 1 – 5)
Our goal in ministry with our elementary children is to help them as they begin and grow in their faith journey.
Through relationships built with friends and adult leaders, through hands-on activities and help with homework, and through Bible stories and music, children grow in faith and learn to navigate with confidence and purpose the world of childhood as they prepare for the future.
We hope that each child will experience the love of God through the love of their church leaders and will find acceptance and affirmation for who they are as children of God.
Our Children’s Ministry is led by our Associate Pastor, Angela Zimmerman, and a team of dedicated volunteers, all of who have been screened and have successfully completed a background check.
